I have breast milk again!

Question:

My son is two months old, my milk had dried up last month. I haven't breast fed since then. today i woke up and i had milk is this normal, can i feed him this milk???

Answer:

In general, you can be assured that any breast milk that you produce is safe and healthy for your baby . . .so, yes, by all means, I would recommend that you feed your little boy this milk. With that said, I would like to add that since you were not expecting to have milk, please be cautious about feeding him your breast milk if you drank alcohol (more than 1 drink in the previous 8 hours). Now that you know that your breast milk has not completely dried up, if you would like to continue to breast feed your baby, be sure to place him/her at the breast regularly and encourage him/her to feed.  This will help increase your production of breast milk.
